To get and keep people's attention, you must have good marketing. Here are ways to refresh your marketing and keep customers and prospects interested.

Your marketing efforts may seem redundant, but you are hesitant to change because they have been working. Don't you want to see growth and not just stay the same? Well, it's time to refresh your marketing.

There are so many ways that you can make your marketing more refreshing, and they're relatively easy to carry out. Here are just a few ideas to get you started.

1. Communicate with customers in new ways

Switch things up and communicate in different ways. You could sponsor a local Little League team. It will get your name out there and show people that you care about the community and want to be involved. You don't have to go to all the team's games, but you should make it to a few.

2. Send company newsletters

Customers like to know what you're up to and how your time is spent. Send a monthly newsletter and include fun news from around the office such as birthdays and a personal spotlight. Also include helpful things such as FAQs or tips and advice. Recap past events or announce upcoming ones, include a letter from your CEO or president, add photos, the list of content ideas goes on and on!

3. Hold an event

Events are a great way to market your company. You could have a birthday party for your company and invite clients, customers, and prospects. Sociallyin is turning four and we are having an event and inviting the community to join us. An event could also be used as a fundraiser or a social to get your name out in the community. It doesn't have to be anything extravagant; the purpose is to network and enjoy yourself.

4. Sponsor a good cause

This is similar to sponsoring a Little League team as mentioned earlier, but it could be a national cause. If there is a cause related to your industry that would be a good option. If you are a medical instruments company or a medicine research firm you could sponsor St. Jude Children's Hospital. You certainly don't have to sponsor a huge organization; any cause would be great for you to support. Make sure it aligns with your company's values.

5. Hold a giveaway competition

You may have seen the various Instagram giveaways other businesses have been taking advantage of. You post a picture, have other people repost it, tag your Instagram and follow you in order to be entered to win. Sometimes they must comment on your picture with a few friends Instagram names. This helps get your brand out quickly and easily and it is great publicity. Who doesn't love winning free things?!

6. Include guest posts on your site

At Sociallyin, we invite people to be guest bloggers for our site and we have been invited to be guest bloggers for others. This is a chance to include different ideas and views into your content. Having the new perspective will help to refresh your marketing efforts.

7. Create a hashtag campaign

Many companies have created their own unique hashtags, e.g. #DiGiorNOYOUDIDNT by DiGiorno Pizza and Charmin's #tweetfromtheseat. These really grab people's attention and get them talking. This is also a great chance to interact with users. It would also be easy to engage with already created hashtags, e.g. Throwback Thursday (#tbt).

There are other small things you can do to refresh your marketing; use clever headlines and subtitles, use relatable analogies, and/or introduce a prospect to a customer reference. Hopefully, these ideas got your creative juices flowing. Now it's time to go out and refresh your marketing!
