Twitter is one of the most powerful tools in the marketing world.
Many may believe that it is primarily there to express your thoughts and check the news. However, this is not the case. As a marketer for any industry, you are able to follow your customers’ thoughts. Particularly, for the education industry, you are able to learn everything you need to know (for the most part) about your students.
The following are 3 ways that Twitter can help your University better understand students.
Most millennial’s are very vocal on social media, especially twitter. Whether they are using their real name, or nickname, you are still able to see a variety of thoughts from the student age range.
On a good day, prospective and current students will express what they like. Whether it be about the university, their favorite products or personal opinions – you are able to see where you need to stand and what you need to offer to meet their needs.
Similar to the previous points, students are very likely to express their dislikes (if not more than their likes). This is something that a university can really dive into and better understand what their students do not prefer.
This can help a university determine what services and products to put out, based on what their students want. However, by understand their dislikes you are able to better understand them, rather than based off of their likes. This is because the students are more likely to express their dislikes, which ultimately help the university.
3. View Points on All Issues
Understanding the students view points on social and cultural issues, helps you (the university) determine whether or not that particular student is a good fit for your university. This will help you overall marketing efforts because therefore you are able to better understand where to focus your marketing efforts.
Through this blog, I hope you, as a university can better understand how Twitter can be utilized in your future endeavors. Twitter is an excellent tools for your marketing efforts, and will help you better target your student audience by recognizing their likes, dislikes as well as controversial view points.
