COLD CALLING IS DEAD, LONG LIVE INBOUND MARKETING

COLDCALLING

WHAT IS COLD CALLING ANYWAY?

Cold Calling is a component of outbound marketing, and is considered to be a thing of the past. By definition, cold calling is soliciting potential customers who were not expecting to speak with you. The reason why it is called ‘cold’ calling is because sales people are trying to get business from a customer without knowing if they are interested in their product or not. This can be risky, because since the customer’s day is being interrupted, they have the potential to be turned off by your business as a whole. Using this method can be intrusive and annoying, and that is not the most ideal method for trying to gain customers. The words "cold, annoying, and intrusive" are adjectives that a marketer should try and steer clear of.

If people are no longer responding to being called out of the blue to see if they are interested in a product, then what other options do sales people have? This is where Inbound Marketing comes in.

INBOUND MARKETING.

Inbound has created a system that makes it easy to manage your online presence. Not only is it easier, it is also significantly more effective than cold calling, and has the ability to reach considerably more customers that may be in your business's target market or specified buyer persona.

Inbound marketing is online software that promotes a company through blogs, podcasts, video, eBooks, whitepapers, and social media marketing. The methodology of inbound marketing states that it is the best way to turn strangers into customers and promoters of your business. That being said, it empowers marketers to attract visitors, convert leads, close customers, and delight promoters. Inbound Marketing provides a constant sales team. While your employees take breaks and leave at 5pm, inbound never rests, it is your 24/7 sales team. Inbound marketing doesn’t just happen, you and your sales team are in charge. You as a sales person control the content that gets put out into the public concerning your product or business, and by using inbound marketing, you can do exactly that.

TO PUT THIS INTO PERSPECTIVE…
