This is a busy time of year for businesses both big and small, and staying ahead of the game on social can be tricky.

But don’t worry. We’ve put together seven wild and fantastic social media marketing tricks that will help you take control of your social, give your audience a little holiday fun to enjoy on the feed and drum up new engagement for your brand.

Ready to get started?

Let’s go!

Host A Contest Or Giveaway

If there’s anything that will capture the attention of your audience and that they’ll enjoy its a good old fashioned competition or giveaway.

You can challenge individuals to share their favorite Thanksgiving food, or come up with a Thanksgiving mascot for your brand and give the winner coupons or gift cards.

Perhaps the winner of your giveaway can enjoy your product free or you can host them for a free Thanksgiving dinner and a chance to meet your team.

Whatever it is, competitions and giveaways are a fantastic way to get to know your audience and spark creativity around the holiday season.

Get Your Audience Involved

This is definitely a great way to spread some holiday cheer and keep the atmosphere around your brand exciting.

Ask your customers questions and get them involved! It can be something as simple as what they’re thankful for, or as complicated and fun as which casserole they always avoid at Thanksgiving.

#Hashtags can be a great way to keep the conversation moving. Just make sure you don’t go overboard. Stick to two or three and stay away from generic hashtags like #thankful, #givethanks or #thanksgiving.

Theme Your Feed

Maybe consider adding some Thanksgiving touches to your feed for the holiday. Whether it be throwing in some fall colors, adding some fall leaves, pumpkins and turkeys as embellishments or putting some physical decor around the office and then showing it off, throwing in a little Thanksgiving feel can make your feed that much more warm and inviting for the season.

There are plenty of free stock photo and graphic sites to choose from out there, including these Canva alternatives that will make theming your feed a breeze, so no excuses.

Give Your Customers a Special “Thank You!”

Do you have customers that deserve a public “thanks”?

Featuring your customers on social media with a special “thank you” is a great way to show your audience that you’re thankful for them and that their business and kindness does not go unappreciated.

What better time of year to give thanks for your customers than Thanksgiving?

Spread a Little Cheer and Give Back to the Community

Showing your audience that your company cares about the community and wants to get out and give back is a huge way to boost brand recognition and show your appreciation this Thanksgiving.

Whether it’s starting a canned food drive, bringing some cookies to hospital and city workers or having a community Thanksgiving, there’s plenty of ways that your company can get into the spirit and “give back” this Holiday season.

So what are you waiting for? It’s time to show your audience the difference your company can make in the community and inspire others to do the same. Start a hashtag and get it trending on social. Share stories about your progress and tag community leaders. Let’s go!

Market Your Product or Service for the Holiday on Social

Whether it’s a physical product or a service, thinking of creative ways that people can use your product around the holidays and selling it as such is a great way to give your brand a little boost on social.

Here’s a quick example: If you’re in the apparel business, you’ve got the perfect Thanksgiving wardrobe. If you sell refreshments, find a way to incorporate it into the holiday. If you sell toys or other entertainment, market it as the perfect way to entertain your guests before and after the meal.

Utilize Stories For Your Holiday Campaign

A quick snap of the Thanksgiving office party or maybe a boomerang of the pumpkin spice latte you’ve been enjoying while putting together orders for your customers.

Whatever it is, (including taking cookies to the firehouse) sharing what your team is up to around the holidays is one of the best ways you can keep your audience engaged on social media around the whirlwind of the holidays.

Who isn’t busy around Thanksgiving? Keeping your audience “in the know” during all the hubbub is a great first step in building better connections and cultivating customer loyalty.

What are YOUR top social media marketing tricks for the Holidays? Have you tried any of these tactics? We’d love to hear your feedback as well as your results!
