Sound Up On Insta Stories

HELLO! I am back to fill you in on everything you may have missed while you were off vacationing without your phone. Instagram is dominating the social media game (What do you think?) while Facebook and Twitter are just trying to become a little bit more transparent after everything Facebook went through about privacy.

Lucky for you, all the information you need to know this week and more is right below!

⬇️⬇️⬇️

INSTAGRAM

Fun fact of the day: Instagram now has 400 MILLION active daily users. This is huge. Stories (the idea they stole from Snapchat) are helping Instagram completely dominate. This means the focus for Instagram is definitely keeping story options upgraded and new.

Instagram made is easier to add music to your story, and I am a big fan. It's such a cool idea that I can't believe I didn't even think we needed it before! GAME CHANGER!

FACEBOOK

In an effort to be more transparent, you will now be able to see EVERY ad a business page is running. Facebook said,

Today we’re making significant steps to bring more transparency to ads and Pages on Facebook. Giving people more information about any organization and the ads it’s currently running will mean increased accountability for advertisers, helping to prevent abuse on Facebook.”

That means you can see ALL ads even if you aren't specifically being targeted. What do you think about this?

Also, just in case you missed it -- a Facebook bug may have unblocked someone that you have blocked without letting you know. You might want to go check your blocked lists

TWITTER

Twitter launched it's Ads Transparency Center on the same day that Facebook did. Twitter said,

“Similar to the search experience on Twitter, to view ads from any advertiser you will be able to simply search for a specific handle and see the creative for all ad campaigns that have run within the last 7 days from that handle.”

Basically all of your favorite social media platforms are trying to be VERY transparent, and there can't be anything wrong with that, right? I guess we'll see how it affects some brands.

PINTEREST
I haven't mentioned Pinterest in awhile, but that's simply because not much has been happening. This week you can 'one click' save a pin on your desktop. Simple but effective.

LINKEDIN

LinkedIn added a translation tool (neat) and QR codes for profiles...? Does anyone actually use QR codes? I love the idea of the translation tool, and it can translate more than 60 languages!

TWEET OF THE WEEK

You'll get a good laugh out of his whole account. At least I do.

Tweet of the Week

That's all I have for this week in social media! It seems like Instagram won't be losing any speed any time soon. What feature do you think they need to add? Are they missing something HUGE? Let me know, or send me a funny tweet! ➡️ lizzie@sociallyin.com
