What's Up With Facebook?

Most likely you've seen the news. Or all of the Facebook happenings. What's going on? Should you be concerned? Are there any cool updates on other platforms that you need to know about? So many questions.

FACEBOOK

Unless you literally live under a rock (in which case I am not sure you would even be reading this) you know Facebook is having some technical difficulties,

So what is going on???

Basically Mark Zuckerberg had to testify before Congress about the failure of Facebook to protect user information. You can watch it all right here!

It has also been reported that the Data Abuse Bounty Program will reward users who report the misuse of data.

Lastly, for Facebook it was the 2 year ~anniversary~ of Facebook Live. Check out this cool infographic I found packed with information on Facebook's big video push!

INSTAGRAM

Attention!! You now have FOCUS MODE on Instagram! Check next to your Boomerang and Superzoom options. I mean just look at the difference! You can't ignore that your Instagram stories are about to look SO GOOD!

We don't have it just yet, but Instagram is looking to launch 'Nametags.' The idea is basically Snapcodes and Messenger Codes but on Instagram. Instagram said,

“Once users have access, they’ll be able to hit a QR scanner button on their profile to bring up the Nametag editor. They can then choose from a purple Instagram color gradient background, a pattern of one emoji they choose, or a selfie they can jazz up with augmented reality face filters that then becomes an emoji pattern. The user’s Instagram username appears in the center.”

There's no denying that this just could make your life a little easier, but it could also be very beneficial for businesses.

Instagram's story updates keep on coming! Watch out for the Q&A sticker option in your stories. It's essentially like polls, but you can respond with anything and your response is private. Interesting.

Lastly, Instagram tried to ban drug hashtags, for well, obvious reasons. Instagram is working to simplify the reporting process to make it a place for creatives to share their pictures. Just be smart with what you share, people!

SNAPCHAT

Lucky us, Snapchat is rolling back to chronological order. I personally don't have this yet, but other users have reported that they do. After all of the uprising on the redesign, it's nice to see Snapchat listening to their users!

PINTEREST

Did you know that Pinterest has 1.5 million advertisers? Well now you do! Pinterest can be very beneficial to your business and shouldn't be ignored. Pinterest has expanded access to the 'Quick Promote' option on Pins. It takes less than 10 seconds for your business to use and is all about making the experience easy.

LINKEDIN

LinkedIn has confirmed they are testing with a small group of users a forced hashtag add feature. The word for 'forced' seems a little extreme, but basically you won't be able to post without adding a hashtag so that the right people see your post.

GOOGLE

Last but not least, don't ask a human. Ask Google. Look up a dog breed with just a picture and Google Lens.
