VOICE STATUS UPDATES

HELLLLLLLLO! We're back for This Week in Social Media! Did you miss something? Ya? No problemo. Here's what happened this week. ↓

FACEBOOK

This week Facebook announced that it will expand their job posting tool to 40 other countries.  The U.S. and Canada already have this feature for businesses to create job postings and job seekers to apply.

"Job posts will also appear on a business’ Page, in the Jobs dashboard, and in Facebook's buy-and-sell tab - Marketplace." Start applying! Your new career is out there!

If you'd rather talk into your phone than type, here's a new update just for you! Facebook is testing voice clips for statuses

This could be popular among younger users. Thoughts or opinions?

Facebook is also testing a red breaking news label. While still prioritizing content from your friends and family above all else, the positive results from the first round of testing this feature may mean it's here to stay!

INSTAGRAM

What's next for Instagram? According to a report by TechCrunch, voice and video calling features are coming! This will give users more ways to communicate without ever leaving the platform. I would 10/10 use. The pressure is on, Snapchat!

Hidden 'Portrait' feature? Instagram ~appears~ to have an unlaunched Portrait mode. This would expand its features like boomerang and superzoom. Instagram has not said anything about this feature yet, so it's unclear what all it will entail. Let me know what you think.

Did you notice the new look for mentioning someone in your story? It's not a huge change. It just looks a little bit more sleek when you're tagging your friends! 😋

SNAPCHAT

🕶 Bring on Spectacles. Snap Inc is releasing TWO versions of its smart specs by fall. Last time Snapchat tried this, they reported a $40 million loss because of poor market performance. So I am interested to see how this goes for them. 🤓

 GOOGLE

On March 7th, Google announced YouTube Studio. This comes with updated analytics and a new dashboard with a new way to compare impressions on videos! This will slowly roll out over the next few weeks.
